It’s been a very crazy 2021 for YFN Lucci, ever since early January. Then, he was hit with charges of felony murder, aggravated assault, participation in criminal street gang activity, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. This was in regards to the murder of 28-year-old James Adams, in December. Adams was shot in the head in a car that Lucci and his crew was in during a shootout with a rival gang in the south side area of Atlanta. Lucci was said to be the driver, and pushed Adams out of the car.
Lucci was also hit with a very serious indictment in May, which was for gang-related racketeering charges. This was a 75-page, 105-count indictment. Due to this, Lucci had to turn himself back into prison, after being released on $500,000 bond in February for the murder case. 11 others were listed in this racketeering indictment. Prior to this, prosecutors had already trying to put Lucci back in jail for supposedly violating the terms of his bond, which reportedly included visiting a music studio, and being at a strip club, which was at the investigation of a shooting.
Now, the Atlanta rapper is finally able to return to social media. This morning, he posted a statement where he thanked everyone for their support and added that he is still incarcerated. The day before, Lucci posted a photo with his son.
“Thank you all for your prayers and continued support. I am still incarcerated right now but am maintaining my innocence. To all my fans who have continued to show love and support, I’ll have some new music and content on the way!”
Fans are definitely excited for new music coming as the last song he put out was “I Gotcha,” in early February. Prior to Lucci’s incarceration, he finally put out his highly anticipated “Wish Me Well 3” album in December. That was led by the hit single, “Wet” and contained appearances from Latto, Jeezy, Rick Ross, Boosie, and more.
