Quavo Says He Was Working on Collab Album, With Pop Smoke, Before His Death [VIDEO]

Pop Smoke was definitely on his way to being one of the biggest breakout stars in 2020. That February, he put out his “Meet The Woo 2” mixtape, which had social media buzzing. 12 days later, he was shot and killed at a home he rented in Hollywood Hills. The Brooklyn rapper still dominated posthumously that year, as his debut studio album, “Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon,” came out. That debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart and went platinum.

Smoke also collaborated with Quavo frequently, as the Migos rapper was on “Shake The Room” from Meet The Woo 2 and Quavo was also on “Snitching” with Smoke and Future from the Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon album. Smoke also just appeared on “Light It Up,” from Migos’ “Culture III” album, that was released two days ago.

In a new interview with Real 92.3 in Los Angeles, Quavo also explained how close he was with Smoke and how they were even working on a collab album before his death.

“That was important, know what I’m saying. I had a relationship with Pop Smoke, we had a relationship with Pop Smoke, and it was just, important. We had so many records, me and him was bout to make an album. So I just felt like I had to put Pop on there. Rest in Peace to my dawg Pop, we just made so much good music. Us on a, New York drill beat is just like, magic.”

Hopefully, this collab album will eventually see a release. Smoke and Quavo definitely met expectations on every collab they’ve delivered.
