Pop Smoke Was Reportedly Shot by 15-Year-Old, in Robbery Attempt of Rolex and Cuban Link Chain, During Home Invasion in Hollywood Hills, That Led To Smoke’s Murder

It’s been over a year and a half now, since the world lost Pop Smoke, who was only 20-years-old. The rising Brooklyn rapper was shot and killed, in a home invasion, in February 2020. four suspects ended up getting charged, with two of them being minors. This shooting occurred in a home that Smoke was renting, in Hollywood Hills, around 4:30AM.

It’s been said that the person who pulled the trigger on Smoke, was a 15-year-old boy. After the shooting, he allegedly took Smoke’s iced out Rolex watch, and only sold it, for $2,000. Now, more information is coming out, regarding one of the other suspects, 20-year-old Corey Walker.

According to Rolling Stone, Walker was in court, on October 15, where his defense lawyer, Christopher Darden, filed a motion to dismiss his murder and robbery charges. The defense made here, was that Walker claimed that he told the 15-year-old, to not shoot Smoke.

Darden also cited how Walker supposedly wasn’t in the home, at the time of the shooting. He also claimed that Walker wasn’t armed at all.

“It is clear from the evidence that [Walker] did not enter the house, was not armed, and did not personally kill the victim. Moreover, the evidence is clear that the defendant did not share the actual killer’s intent to kill.”

Walker also reportedly told the teen to not shoot Smoke, and instead, hit him with a vase. After the shooting occurred, Walker allegedly “assaulted” the teen, for doing that, instead of using the vase, against Smoke. If convicted, Walker faces life in prison, without the possibility of parole.

This past July, Smoke’s second studio album, which was also posthumous, was released. This was “Faith,” which went on to be his second consecutive posthumous number one album.
