Can you tell us a bit more about your background and how you got into music?
Answer : I was born and raised in baltimore, my background not too different than any other nigga from the trenches , lived wit my grandma , lost some homies, dealt with poverty, like everybody else revenge n hunger for more then what was around me drove me to the streets at a young age n music was always there to numb the pain. I figured maybe I spit some of this real shit a lil nigga somewhere like me could find comfort knowing I made it thru this shit and make it thru another day of his situation
How have your experiences growing up in the inner city influenced your music?
Answer: My experiences influenced my ability to paint a picture on my songs , I’m spitting shit that coming right out my memory n it’s vivid so even if you never been in them situations you can still feel it
Can you walk us through the process of creating your latest single, “Verified”?
Answer : Nothin crazy Smoked a J , booked da stu n punched that jawn off top bar for bar
You’ve mentioned that you started taking your music career seriously after beating an attempted murder case. How did that experience shape your approach to music?
Answer : When you fighting time you realize how much you done wasted, I was never the type to waste time but if anything the lil situation made me lock in more not just in music but all the other business shit I got going on
Can you talk about some of the challenges you’ve faced in your career so far, and how you’ve overcome them?
Answer: No such thing as challenges in life I just do what I do how I do it , when you fall in love wit the process results always come
What is the message you hope to convey through your music?
Answer: Not a specific message I treat this rap shit my biography.. if you listen to the music it tells you the story of my life
Who are some of your biggest musical influences?
Answer: 50 Cent the only one it probably ain’t a 50 song I don’t know word 4 word
You’ve received co-signs from Toosii, YBN Nahmir, and Almighty Jay. What was your reaction when you found out they were supporting your music?
Answer: I appreciate wen anybody show love , I didn’t have no crazy reaction tho
Can you talk about any upcoming projects or collaborations that fans can look forward to?
Answer: I just dropped “verified” March 25TH out on all platforms .. this summer dropping a EP called “Step Music” full of real shit for niggas slide to with features from WillThaRapper , Toosii n some other big names
What advice would you give to aspiring artists who are just starting out?
Answer: Don’t ride no waves if you keep shit real it’ll be people out there who fuck with it
How do you handle criticism or negative feedback about your music?
Answer: I take notes on respectful criticism, everything else I don’t pay no mind.
What can fans expect from Mantime Kd in the future?
