Exclusive interview with HKS BABY SLIME
Can you tell us a bit about your background and how you got into music?
: My background, to be honest, was quite rough. I was in and out of jail, homeless, and going through a lot of stuff growing up. My mother started to use drugs when I turned 14, and I turned to the streets to sell crack. However, music was always my passion, and I never gave up, even when I almost did. Music has been a part of my life since I was seven, and my whole family does music.
What role has music played in your life, and how has it impacted you?
: If it was not for music, I would probably be dead or in jail because of the lifestyle I used to live. But rap saved me. It’s been a significant part of my life, and I plan to change the game by giving young people a better chance at life.
Is there anything you would like to let go of in your journey to success?
: No, there wouldn’t be anything I would like to let go. I just want to build and teach my young kings to be great.
What’s your plan to bring change to the music industry?
: When I get a record deal that I feel is worth it, I plan to change things for the youth because they deserve a better chance at life. This world is meant for greatness, and I want my young kings to be great.
How do you stay focused on your goals, and what advice would you give to aspiring artists?
: I stay focused and don’t let anyone tell me I can’t make it. I stay away from negative influences such as fake friends, family, love, and people that envy me. To aspiring artists, I would advise them to stay focused, work hard, and stay away from negative influences that could hinder their success.
Do you have a particular process when it comes to writing music?
: I don’t really write too much. I freestyle most of my music. I’m not too much of a writer.
What’s your approach to performing?
: I just perform and be myself. I don’t try to be someone else, and that’s what people love about me.
Do you have any favorite work of yours, and what can fans expect from you in the future?
: Michigan made me, my mixtape that I just dropped, is my favorite work right now. I have another mixtape called Killuminati that will be out in the middle of March. Fans can expect me to keep going, signing artists, and giving people a chance to chase their dreams.
Do you have any particular song that you think will change the game?
: Yes, I feel like my song will change the game. I just have to keep going and stay committed to my goals.
